No, it is not a "triple digital timer," but a "chinois with pestle and stand." And that's pronounced "sheen-WAH." I gotta say...I don't remember my mom ever using that word in our house. But we had one of these things and I can remember her putting persimmons and other stuff I wouldn't eat through it. And I really have no idea where the puree ended up once she pressed it through this tool.

OK DAUGHTERS, i CAN'T BELIEVE THEY STILL MAKE THEM. I STILL HAVE MINE AND WON'T PART WITH IT.
I MADE TOMATO JUICE, JELLIES, PUMPKIN PUREE (for pumpkin bread),
applesauce,etc. No, I did not sneak any pureed carrots into the sphagetti!!!!! Wish I had thought of it, you who would not eat your carrots!!!! Mamma
Margaret made the persimmon cookies using this. I think I helped pick them. I thought they were delicious!

I remember going with Margaret to pick persimmons, too. And those cookies were good, but I think we decided they were too much effort. I mean, we had to climb a tree and those branches were high. We should ask her if she remembers that...

I remember persimmons and I think the chickens got what was left after they were pureed. Or at least I remember scraping something out of that thing in the chicken coop more than once.

Wait a minute. I think that I have that thing. I think Mama gave it to me. I may have use it once a long time ago, I'm not sure, maybe with Grandma Webb. But what a weird name, I will have to write it down. Coincidentally, as I was cooking for the holiday, I ran across it and K asked what it was and I called it "a thing",too. Ha,ha.
